Help for under $200

Can anyone recommend a head unit + amp for under $200. i just want some pretty decent sound. I've already got 2 6x9 pioneer speakers and 2 12's in a box in the trunk. I want to be able to play mp3's if possible... TIA.

for under $200 total? no good man. i dont even recommend buying a deck for less than $200 (well, maybe 175). you are compromizing too much with anything lower

for under 200 bucks that plays mp3's?? the only CHEAP one that i know of is the Aiwa CDC-MP32 and thats 199.99. You want a amp also, which i doubt will happen after the other expenses such as wiring and bracket (if you dont currently have a aftermarket HU which I think you might if you said you got subs)

EDIT :just noticed the Kenwood one for 129.99, still looking at more than 200 for everything. Don't buy something just cause its all you got the money for right now. Been there done that. I wound up selling it for less than i paid so i can get the original one i wanted after all and wound up losing money. Happens more than once.

Unless you shop at Wal Mart or the Home Boys Shopping Network, you're never going to get an amp and head unit for $200. I can guarantee that no matter where you shop, you sure won't get anything that even approaches acceptable quality for that money. Spend the $200 on a decent head unit and enjoy that until you can save enough for an amp.

thats fine... i'll hold off on the amp for now. The Kenwood KDC-2019 plays mp3s? As in.. i can burn 125 mp3's on a cd and it'll play directly off that CD?

the kenwood plays all types of burned cds, not sure about the mp3's, i think someone mentioned awia, and i think for your price range they are the only one that plays mp3's

Save your money and get something good. I've probably wasted over a grand on junk over the last 10 years of my car audio experience. All it was worth was that it taught me to never by junk for cheap. Damn I sound like a father. Must be that second kid on the way.
