Triple sub enclosure
hey, i just cut a new top for my box, it is going to hold 2 12W0's and a 12W4 DVC, i am getting ready to put the new top on, but i have a ?
-Will it be better to seperate each sub, or just leave the box open inside, so they all share the same airspace?????????

So many people dont know that YOU CANNOT USE DVC AND SVC ON THE SAME AMP!!! it does not do good for your amp or speakers, also its not good to use different impedence speakers on the same amp, go to JL Audios website and do your homework, but back to your original q, if you are gonna run 3 subs of the same ohms, off the same amp on one channel its fine to have seperate chambers, or single chamber, but if they all have a different channel then you must use seperate chambers, otherwise you could damage the speakers, im not tryin to be rude, but really man you should know not to use two different type speakers on the same channel of an amplifier

how come you cant use DVC, and SVC on the same amp? the amp would see the DVC as 2 SVC's right? because all that matters to the amp is the impedance right?

yeah, shared airspace is bad. if your pushed for space, two subs can be run in shared airspace with the same amp. but if your running two amps, you'll lose alot of bass. 3 subs in shared airspace will hurt your bass consibly.

Especially one that will push more air than the other. Having the 12W4 hitting harder (it will draw more power) will suck the other 2 down when they are trying to hit.
But like nagga said, using a DVC and SVC on the same channel is a NO NO.

also, u can use 10 amps on 5 speakers on in the same airspace if they are identical, and if each amp is run in mono, and is recieving the exact same signal it wont hurt a thing, but when your amps have different signals then one speaker is recieving the left bassline, and the other is getting a right bassline, and one could be a lower tone, and that is what will cause the damage
