U think I Need a New Radio
When I hit hard bumps the right side of my car doesn't make sound until I hit another bump. I have an entire stock system so do you guys think it is time to dump the old tape deck? What are some good head units? I like colorful ones with neat special features but my wallet doesn't. Are there any eye catching ones within $250?

My brothers car, with an aftermarket cd player, used to always cut out the rear speakers when he hit bumps. What was it? Simple ..rewire the speakers, bad connection. Not for sure, but theres a good chance. Also I must suggest JVC head units, u can get a nice one for under 250 easily. I have had very good expierences with them, my brother just got rid of his old JVC, and it was at least id say 6 years old and still worked great. Also if you plan on adding an amp, or amps, I would suggest gettting one with 4V outputs, it makes the amp do less work and really helps out alot trust me.

Thanks for your advice guys. Yea I think it is the head unit since everything is stock. That means 15 years old. I guess it is time to start looking for a new radio. How long do you think the stock speakers are going to last with the new headunit?

Forever, as long as you don't care about sound quality.
Crutchfield has that 4-payment-plan, too. If you spend over $200, you can pay it off over four months. I used it a few times, back when you only had to spend $100- I'd buy all the power wiring pieces I'd need for someone's system that way. Keep in mind if you wanted to pay it off all at once, you should look locally, because Crutchfield is usually overpriced! So you could probably nab a $300 radio and a $50 set of speakers, and pay it off over 4 months. I hear ebay has a lot of new car speakers, too.

Yea I have bought from Crutchfield before and they were a little expensive. Right now I really don't feel like installing the radio myself. I will probably start hitting the car audio places where they offer free install. I have just finished helping a couple friends install their radios (meaning I installed it for them) and just the thought of doing another radio job gives me a headache.
