Just put about 1.5 pounds of stuffing in each side. That cheap pillow stuffing works great.

What kind of subs you got? And if you going to stuff the box, most speaker manufactors reccomend stretching it out and lightly stuff the box.

my friend has one in his 82 Z28, i had a box custom built for my 85 IROC that i wrecked in January, so i couldnt use the box, and ended up selling the 2 infinity's that i had, and now that i have another camaro I was looking for better subs, listened to his, and lked it ALOT, it is LOUD in his car, he is using a US Acoustics amp on it.

>>Why do you ask, do you not like them??<<

I use Cerwin Vegas only in free air applications like in a trunk load or in the doors. I did not like it in a sealed or ported incloseures. The Cerwin Vegas always needed a big enclosures. Worked with many different woofers that worked better in most applications. But don't get me wrong I did many trunk loads with 12-18" and the Cerwin Vegas was always the best!

what would you suggest as a better sub? the car stereo place i ordered from siad I have until Wednesday to cancel, and recieve a full refund. They said that they needed about 2.1 cubic feet per woofer and my box is about 1.4-1.6 per side, so i was going to use the poly fill to make it sound better.

I thought of going free air, but cerwin says ported or sealed.

One unique on our f-body cars that you can easliy make a baffle board and fits 2 ported 12" woofers and this will rock! You don't have to worry about space and the ease of removing it and you can easliy store stuffs or you amps and acessories on the bottom of the baffle board.

The best thing about our cars is the hatch. It is like haveing a box inside a box! I have a set of 2 12" JBL's in a Q logic band pass. Sounds good but I would like to have my back seat back!! I may sell them.

Dude, I hate to say it, but those subs are going to sound like junk in that box. Those 12" Vegas need 2.5 cubic feet per sub. No polyfill in the world is going to make them sound good in a 1.5 cubic foot box. Polyfill is good for a 10% variation at the absolute most. You should either build the right box or get the right subs. Those things are going to have a frequency response of about 60-80hz and drop off like a rock outside of that. In anything other than a 2.5 cubic foot box with the proper port size, those subs turn to crap.

thats what i was thinking, so i may sell one, and build a box with one of them facing agaisnt the rear wall in the hatch, kinda like the one that you posted a picture of.

>>edit<< hey jim what would you suggest for my application then that would sound better in the dual box?

There's a million and 10 12" subs out there that work well in 1.5 cube boxes. Is this box ported or sealed? if it's sealed, you've got a million choices, if it's ported, then you should plan on adjusting the port length to accomodate the new sub.

If it's sealed, just start going to places and listening to stuff. You'll have plenty of options. JL W3s come to mind, but there are literally hundreds of alternatives.

the box has the holes cut for ports, though they arent installed, and the carpet hasnt been cut, that way i could seal them up which i plan on doing, because im not sure on how to tune a ported box and what not, i am looking for subs that arent as popular out here in utah, because i dont want to be like everyone else running around with JL subs and a fosgate amp, or fosgate subs, and some cheap amp, I am loooking for 12's that will sound great with punk, nad rock, cus i dont care for rap or heavy metal.
