What kind of amp to get??????
I need some opinions on an amp brand to get. I personally really like PPI but I am not stuck on it. I am going for SQ, but I need something loud enough so I can cruise on the freeway between Houston and Austin with my windows down and is louder than my exhaust...hehe. I plan on going Boston Rally all around, so I know they can handle whatever kind of power I throw at them. I plan on eventually moving up on to Boston subs when funds permit. I am a poor college student but I still want a high end system, even if it takes time to build it. What do yall think of Hifonics or MA Audio or Memphis or Phoenix Gold, or other highend components. Thanx everyone.

Hifonics is actually pretty good...and if you need a sub amp I may know someone who will be selling his. its the Xi series Zeus, tested at 1290rmsx1@4ohm (same power into 2ohms) from AS2000.
As far as amps for mids/highs, JL amps are great, i love mine. RF will work, Kicker, PG, xtant, zapco, diamond, US amps, memphis, and the list goes on. lol
I would look into a 150+ x 2rms. That way you have headroom. When building an SQ system having more power than needed a very key thing. That way during music peaks you have ample power to play it undistorted/unclipped.

how good are Hifonics amps compared to some of the other hi-end stuff, because the people that make Hifonics also make Crunch, so I am a little worried about component crossovers, but dont get me wrong..im not putting down Crunch. I just want to get the highest quality stuff I can afford. Thanx guys.

Just because they are owned by the same company doesn't mean anything. Most the brands out there are owned by a handful of company's...
They are just as good as any of them.
