Hey Steel, I like the fog lights!! I need to get me a set like that. Also I'm a HUGE fan of the hood you scored yourself. Looks great. You should paint the hood teal but leave the intents black, thats how they were originally painted and it brings attention to the hood scoops
I hope to see that thing in person sometime soon!

Re: Fog lights and New Tires
I have the blisters and they do look good but I like your hood as well. Paint the hood but not the inserts. And I would take the plate out ofthe window...it is distracting. I would upgrade the wheels because they don't go well with the 92 GFX in my opinion. I would go 92z28's or newer IROCS or after market chrome...but I was never a fan of those rims...when you paint the hood fix that clear problem on the nose and pockets...I think the front of the Camaros draw a lot of attention and must always look good no matter what...love the fogs...all camaros should have working fogs...gives that nasty look...

The hood is trying to come apart on me, and its really frustrating. I also plan to re-paint the entire car teal, because what you don't see is that the drivers side door has a dent right by the mirror, and needs to be replaced. There is also a problem with the paint peeling up by the T-tops, and of course, the very noticeable clear coat damage on the nose.
If I was to change wheels, it would be to something like what Jake has, I love centerlines, and I wouldn't want to go to a bigger wheel because I JUST got these new tires.
The front plate, God do I hate that law. Any one have any good ideas on what to do with it?
EDIT: I really love the encouragement, it makes me want to get out there and start doing more to it

Re: Fog lights and New Tires
What size tires did you go? good choice on the whites out BTW. looks classic muscle car! Too many cars on here are trying to look the same with the same wheels. Sometimes you gotta bring the car back to its muscle car roots!

Re: Fog lights and New Tires
the rears are 255/60/15 and the fronts are 225 or 235/60/15
I really struggled with the decision on white letters, i wasn't sure if I would like it. I like it

I like the car man. Some 16 inch wheels (though you picked some tires that make those 15s look good) would make it look even better.
It looks like a real driver's car.

Re: Fog lights and New Tires
nice. i agree with jake on the black hood scoops. the white lettering seems too lok better on camaros, i have never liked it on firebirds, but both your cars look great with the white lettering out.

Re: Fog lights and New Tires
I love those tire sizes and specifically the look of those tires on 3rd gens. I had exactly that setup on my ’83…
What does it need… looking at it I’d say clean up the wheels, finish them in cast aluminum or black (get rid of the teal) and center caps. I like the look of something like autodrags also, but they aren’t available in offsets that don’t stick out from one angle or another on our cars.
Oh that reminds me, ¼” spacers behind the front wheels… it’s small enough that no one will be able to tell what you did but those that take a close look at the car will just notice that it sits just a little bit better. I also like them lowered with that combination, gives it a real racecar look (as opposed to the typical boy racer look that a lot of people call a racecar look), but I understand if that’s not useable where you’re at. I had mine lowered much more then most, around 3” in the front, so the tops of the tires were just tucked inside the fenders, and probably 2” or more in the back for the same effect (even with the tallish tires the tops of the bumpers were below knee level, and the tranny and oil pan were within 2” of the ground)

Nice lookin ride, but its screaming for some clear side lights and clear lights in the front parking/turn signal lights. Those will go great with the fog lights.
And I also dig the white lettering

Lowering it... I have actually never even considered it! What I would worry about is tire clearance when I go bigger. I could have put 275s in the back with those wheels and, and I plan on it next time. Would I run into clearance problems?

Re: Fog lights and New Tires
i dont sorry. i ill make one up tommorrow tho since its friday and i can stay up alittle later playing around.
umm im not to sure. i got 235 on a set of 15 inch rims on all 4 corners.
iv only lowered the front of my car 2 inches. i just cut my old front springs a whole coil but sicne there old springs. there sagging lower then 2 inches. soo i have no idea how low it acturally is from a stock ride hight.... hmmm.
but i need to take my car in to tget a wheel alignment it really pulls to the right when i take it to a drive.
but when i turn at full turn. it makes a terrible grinding type sound. so i need to take it in for a wheel alignment and see what its like for clearence for the front end.
but i kinda like the way my car sits now with just the front lowered. and the back at stock hight. i wont take my car in for alignment any time soon tho. im gunna wait till i put in my engine in the summer and after cleaning the engine bay as well. then take it in.
ill see if i have any photos of what it looks like now.

Re: Fog lights and New Tires
Ya, my front suspension is actually BENT. Previous owner decided to go over a large pot hole at like, 40+, actually damaged the stock 16 inch wheels, marred them all up nasty.
I plan on getting some nice front struts, which should fix my problem. It drives fine, but it will sometimes try to follow the road patterns. It also messes up the fronts almost as fast as I can bake the rears....

I don’t have a great picture of the ’83 to show this, but the attached is the car at the low ride height (notice the tops of the front and rear tires are covered by the fenders) with 235/60’s on the front and 255/60 radial ta's on the back.

Re: Fog lights and New Tires
Despite how relatively cheap they are and how small a change they are, they make a big difference in the overall look of the car.
