Bought from original owner in 1999. Always stored winters, always garaged, never hacked up or abused. Car was freshly ceramic coated last summer. 305, auto, power windows/locks/mirrors, and has the nicer optional custom cloth interior. 156k miles. Mods are OE+ in nature - the car is lowered 2" on Eibach Sportlines, and it has a new OE style Dynomax exhaust, as well as an open element intake. Also has an Alpine iPod head unit.

The reason why the member can't PM is because new accounts don't have PM access until they've become "established". This was implemented some time ago to help protect the community against spam, scam and other practices that have been a problem with similar sites like ours. Like virus, spam and scam emails was a thing, so now is using message boards and social media.

It's your car and it's your decision. If you don't feel comfortable with the people involved, you need to do what feels right for you and is best for you. I'm not going to go into details but not everyone who is new, or can't figure out how to use a feature they currently don't have access to, is a scammer.

Again, as we're not directly involved and it's your car, you need to do what feels best for you.

 

Fair enough but I'd wager three brand new accounts all formatted with first name/last name usernames in the same thread tells the story.

If I'm wrong, and they are real people who want to buy the car, they'll be back.

 

The Facebook registration will do that (use the person's real name from Facebook details). I'm not saying that's the case all the time but that is why some accounts have that. Some will contact us and request a username change because they missed that their public name would be displayed when they logged in using the Facebook login integration - either as someone who already had an existing account with a "normal" username or someone who was new to the site.

Please know I'm not trying to sway you as I don't want you to make any decisions you're not comfortable with and I suspect you've got good judgement and error on caution. I just wanted to point out there can be legitimate reasons.

 

Car is sold, thanks for all the kind words - hope it goes to a good home after being with me for 22 of my 37 years. I will have a bunch of NOS parts coming up for sale (interior/exterior) in the coming days/weeks, just need to find time to catalogue, photograph, and list them.
