1985 CAMARO IROC-383 New Motor, Trans & More!

SOLD!

I have up for sale my nearly new Small Block Chevy 383 Stroker engine with TCI TH-350 Street Fighter Transmission and much, much more that just so happens to be crated in a rust free 1985 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 / IROC-Z. What you get here is a truly turnkey system that was built to push approximately 420HP. When I say nearly new I mean it has less than 500 miles on everything. It runs great and you could say it is well tested. There is a lot of good going on here, so much so that the receipts tally near $10,000

Everything About the Motor, Trans & Exhaust w/ Part No.'s & Cost If You Bought Right Now. None of these listed prices include the time or cost of labor that would go into an engine build like this.

About the car the motor comes in;
Camaro was previously titled in Oklahoma and sat in a garage in Wisconsin from 2002 until completion this spring. The car is solid, runs and drives great and nearly the entire drivetrain is new. The only thing not new in the drivetrain is the rear end; it is still the original 10 Bolt which isn't a bad thing. The car is not perfect it is after all 29 years old and does need some things and has some minor issues which I will list below. The car could be finished but you don't have to as it could be driven just fine as it is or one could use everything here for your own project or 3rd Gen Camaro at a fraction of the cost then to buy it all yourself. Then you part out the car to recoup some of your cost and would be really far ahead.

In the pictures you will see that it has the standard front clip, the reason for this is the car did have some front end damage on the passenger side that was repaired well before all this was put into it and the car drives nice and straight with no shimmering as you speed down the road. Good news is I do have the proper front clip with trim and lights (no fogs though) that will go with the car. It is missing a few mounting tabs but you could still make it work. (Replace it and now you can sell the other one for some $$$ to put back into the car) The driver's door was starting to sag and that was bothering me so I just replaced the pins in it last week and it is working great now. Also didn't quite like the exhaust so I just put the Stainless Hushpower on and now it sounds like it should. When I had the muffler put on I went ahead and took pictures of the undercarriage. You will see all the new stuff as well as surface rust but that is it, just surface as it is solid everywhere, no holes etc. . . Also just put a nice JVC media deck with Bluetooth streaming, USB, Hands free phone w/ mic and remote. I had to put in new dash speakers as it had none in the front. Rear had decent 3-Way 6x9's so I left them in.

But I will stop rambling on and give you a long list of good and the short list of not so bad. I might have missed something but I really did my best to show you exactly what there is to know. The mileage will be going up slightly as the days pass as I still like to drive it now and then. Was at 25,146 on the odometer upon completion of the install and is currently at 25,460. (goes up faster than it should)

Everything new on the Camaro w/ part no.'s and cost if you bought right now.
None of these prices include the time or cost of labor that would go into a project build like this or the cost of the car itself. Title is free and clear.

·Be Cool Radiator Kit (BCI-82015) $1529.95
·Custom Balanced Driveshaft $277.00
·Goodmark Steel Cowl Induction Hood (4022-200-824) $460
·Holley Red Electric Fuel Pump (12-801-1) $109.95
·JVC KD-X250 In-Dash Media Receiver $99.95
·Audiobahn 4x6 Dash Speakers (AMS460H) $35.00
·Dash Pad $165
·Gas Tank $200
·Brakes etc...
·And More!

TOTAL: $2877

What you should know about the car (crate) that I know;
·The repaired front end damage that I mentioned above.
·Doors have a few small dings/dents in them.
·Interior shows its age, driver's seat worn/torn on side. Piece poking through on passenger seat, seat belt pieces on seat off/missing? Rear seats are nice, one small hole driver's side. A few small cracks/breaks on plastics etc. . . I have replaced some stuff as I went along. Carpet on floor and doors look good, head liner is sagging, held up with corkscrews. Some loose trim.
·All gauges work in the dash except the water temp & oil pressure as they have been disconnected and new ones put in the pod on the driver's side pillar.
·Speedometer works, however it is off. For example; when I am going 65MPH the speedo reads 83MPH
·Dash lights, headlights, tail lamps, blinker lights and brake lights all work just fine.
·When you make a left turn the blinker doesn't disengage. With a right turn it works fine.
·Windshield needs to be replaced, has a star crack. I do have the rear view mirror. ·Window weather strip felts need to be replaced. The ones that guide the window. Driver side is worse than passenger.
·Car could use a paint job, peeling and a long scratch on the driver's side (someone wasn't happy!) Maybe do an undercoat.
·Could use tires, they have tread but are old and cracking. (Have fun, burn them up before you get new ones)
·Power windows work, but are slow. Power door locks work but take a few presses. Rear hatch works fine.
·Ground effect on driver's rocker panel cracked, can only be seen when door is open. Passenger side cracked near front of door.
·Missing emblems on front clip, rear bumper and passenger side. One rim is missing IROC-Z center cap.
·No horn, No A/C, heat works fine
·I've only ever ran premium gas
·Suspension is very good.

Asking $4500 If you are seriously interested in owning this engine / vehicle and have any questions please email me or txt/call Don. Mon-Fri after 3:30pm Central or anytime on the weekend at (906) 282-8041

Thank you,

Not trying to be mean but someone would be buying your car basically for the engine and tranny and nothing else. It should be priced at $3500. If you put all that money into it then keep the car. GLWS

Thank you for the insight, I appreciate it. There is more here then the motor and the trans. It also has a $1500 Be Cool Radiator and Fan assembly among other things. I would love to keep the car and finish it as it is a solid Camaro that drives straight but with a house project just underway I have to put that as priority.

I'm open to offers, but $3500 is too low. A turnkey 383 like mine is $4k-$5k alone with some priced up to $6k-$7k depending on HP etc... Plus the Transmission is another $1100. I am hoping my asking price is fair and again open to suggestions and offers as I do need the cash elsewhere.

Thank you,
Don

Great question, I can't believe I missed that when I was totaling everything up (that puts the build closer to $10K) And going back through I can see why. I can't find the receipt for it but they are DART heads, bought new when the block was purchased.

Lunati cam specs
Advertised Duration (Int/Exh): 290/290
Duration @ .050 (Int/Exh): 224/224
Gross Valve Lift (Int/Exh): .460/.460
SA/ICL: 112/108
Valve Lash (Int/Exh): Hyd/Hyd
RPM Range: 2000-5500

If I can find the model no. I will post it

EDIT:
DART Iron Eagle Heads (10110010)
180cc Intake Runner
Angle Plug
Hardened Exhaust Seats
Phosphorus Exhaust Guides, Manganese Intake Guides
5-Angle Competition Valve Job on Intake, Full Radius on Exhaust Valve

Fixed dash lights, they work fine now. also dropped price slightly as I am hoping for a quick sale, however I can not take to much of a loss. This is really a great deal.

Thanks, It is and has so much potential! I just can't afford to finish it.

Where in Wisconsin are you located? I'm right on the border, tell your friends to come check it out.
