ls1 swap blue iroc $10,500 CASH
FINAL PRICE DROP will not not take any less
Heres the important details:
Ultra Blue Metallic '89 IROC-Z hardtop (painted in the fall of 2010)
Zero rust, underbody was cleaned and painted same time as the body
Mileage on the body is unknown, but I can assure you everything that needed attention was replaced
The chassis is solid, there are no issues
The LS1 and 4L60E
There are no issues with the drivetrain, it starts, runs, and drives as it should. The rebuilt tranmission as I said shifts firm.
recently had a full tune up plugs/wires fluids etc
also had new water pump, power steering pump
The engine is a '98 Ls1 with a 2002 ECM and wiring harness so it has the better tuning capabilities.
New parts installed at the time of the swap:
Headliner
Carpet
Door panels
Inner and outer window sweeps
225lph Walbro fuel pump
Speaker grill covers
Sun visors
The interior is extremely clean.
seats are 4th gen leather trans am seats no rips or tears at all
new dash pad installed with zero cracks
also brand new alpine head unit installed
It has crank windows, power locks, manual mirrors, rear defrost, has the dash wiring for cruise but I didn't hook it up yet, has a/c hooked up with the swap.
Modifications besides the swap:
Shorty style headers with all new exhaust system, high flow cat and back to a flowmaster muffler with stock looking turn down tail pipes under the bumper, extremely sleeper looking!
Custom made polished aluminum cold air kit with a K&N cone filter
4th gen windshield washer and coolant overflow tanks
4th gen rear end with 3.42 gears and Ls1 rear disc brakes
only issues with the car are there are some paint areas on front bumper that need redone and the lock around drivers door needs repainted
this car is for the camaro enthusiast who wants the best of 3rd and 4th gen styles combined

Excellent! Thanks I just bought an 86 IROC Z and I'm going it alone - hubby is not interested at all - at least not until his buddies show up. I'm gonna need all the help I can get. Thanks again!

Saw one just like it at Iola Car Show in Wisconsin last week. They were asking $12,500 so you are right in there for pricing. Good Luck!!

I shipped mine. The cost really isn't all that bad to ship them right now. Just take the front ground spoiler off or you might be replacing it.

Where is the convertible in the background? It's a twin to my coupe! Nice cars, both. Someone will be happy.

I posted those pics. The vert is mine and the coupe that is for sale was my dads and we built it from the ground up and marokid bought it from my dad. The pics were taken the day he came to MO to pick it up.

Me and my dad had a build also. 1929 Mercedes Benz Gazelle kit. Good times had by all. Still have it and drive it once in a while. Those are times we will never forget...

I doubt I'd ever sell it, although my wife keeps asking me about it since we purchased a house last year.
We've built quite a few third gen Camaros, this one was one of our favorites though. Whoever buys marokid's car is going to have a real nice car on their hands.

bump for ya. for me personally, if only a few things were different I would hop on a plane and buy this thing. 1 for me, the mileage is WAY to high, and 2, it would have to be a t56.

The only thing with high mikeage is the motor. everything else is new as I literally pieced the car together peice by piece from the ground up and he recently had the trans gone through. You can run the LS motors to 200k+ and when they do need a rebuild its typically just a hone and ring job.
Oh and a T56 swap is easy. Get your hands a little dirty! haha

My point was its a really high mileage car for the asking price. As for getting my hands dirty, I built my car from the ground up as well, I have no problem investing some blood and sweat into these cars! Was just stating what was preventing me from buying this particular car, no need to defend it. I watched the build from day one on this car, your vert and your dads current vert (which im chomping at the bit to see finished by the way), I know exactly what you and your dad did to build this thing.

Yea i realize what you mean but again, the car itself is not high mileage just the engine.
And I am anxious to get dads car done too Soon though!

You say mileage unknown on body. What is the mileage on the title? Or do you have a carfax?

Re: LS1 / 4L60E swapped 1989 IROC-Z hardtop, Ultra Blue Metallic, super clean!
The body mileage is honestly irrelevant at this point anyways. You've got a car here that has had everything replaced. The only thing I can think of that I didn't touch was the front brake calipers and rotors. I didn't upgrade or replace those because they were in good working condition. The rearend was upgraded with a lower mileage (70k I think) '02 Z28 rear with disc brakes. I even took the steering box off and had it rebuilt with new seals...
This was taken the day I bought the car before any work was done on it. There was literally nothing in it but a dash, door panels, and a plastic bucket seat.

Wow! that car has came a long way. I'd be interested if it was a little less money. but a little out of my budget right now.

Sweet car! If I didn't already have 2, I'd go borrow the money to buy it. Don't suppose you'd wanna trade my 86k mint 87 IROC plus a 96 3/4 ton suburban with a 454 for it? Figured it never hurts to ask.
