1990 IROC-Z...is it worth it?

ok so there's a 1990 IROC-Z for sale around where I live for $4000 OBO. it has 129,000 miles on the 350 engine, interior is really nice shape, paint is pretty decent, but it has a few problems.

there's 2 pretty big dents on the driver side door and side fender. also looks like the door isn't sitting completely straight on the hinges either. there are also a few chips on the rear bumper above the dual exhaust.

here are some of the pictures of the dent and chips (sorry if they're kind of small) basically I wanted to ask you guys is this car worth $4000? i was sort of thinking about offering $3200, since I'm assuming the dents will cost around $500 or so to get out. and I mean 129,000 isn't exactly low in mileage.

Thanks any input would be very helpful. I just don't want to get ripped off!

The car looks good from the pics. I personally wouldn't repair the door and fender, I would replace both. Does it have any rust? Is it a original 5.7? The asking price isn't out of line. It's a blue 1990 Irocz hard top only made for half a year. I believe only 2500 5.7 cars made in 90. You won't be getting ripped off.

Also you think 129,000 is high mileage for a 21 year old car!?! That's less then 6,500 miles a year.

Re: 1990 IROC-Z...is it worth it?

well with the mileage you get what i mean....the engine most likely has lost some power and would likely be needing some work soon, depending on how well he took care of it. i'll be checking the car out on saturday, but from the other pics i have no rust is visable.

and also how much would it likely be to replace a door and a fender?? I dont know a whole lot about pricing for body parts.

You can probably get a nice door and fender for around $250.00
Or less depending on condition they're not hard to remove and install either. As far as engine work if it's only maintenance and tune up that's not bad.

Re: 1990 IROC-Z...is it worth it?

yea going over it I think $3200 max....and that's if everything else is in fine working order/condition. I'm hoping that the original owner sold this to some punk that got a dent in it now he wants to sell.

Yea I just checked at pick & pull they have a door for $30 and a fender for $60, both nice condition. And I also want to run the VIN just to make sure it's a real IROC-Z and not a clone.
