86 IROC-Z (Hillsboro, OR), make offer
OK, here's the deal guys. I have an 86 IROC-Z...built 350, tons of extras, but hasn't run in years. Rough, but all there. Lots of hi-pro parts, extra parts, and odds-n-ends. Car ran 12.49 @114 in it's prime. Too much to list here, but here's the good part:
I will give this car and all of the parts away as-is to the person who meets the following requirements:
1) You will at least try to use this car for your own project, or parts for another project
2) You will not sell the car itself for at least 2 years (see #1)
3) You have to take it all...including a spare (needs work) auto tranny, and various suspension parts and extra stock wheels.
4) You take it away yourself. I will help a bit with loading, but you transport. No ship, local pickup only, work to my hours/times (I'm a good guy, but don't show up at 9pm on a Sunday un-announced).
5) You know what you are doing and can turn a wrench.
6) You are not 18 with no job.
Look, I loved this car...was a big part of my life for years. But I've moved on, and it needs to go to someone who can make use of it. Many thousands invested in this...strong runner back in the day. For a little work, some money, some paint, and elbow grease, you can have a great IROC-Z.
PM for details on the engine buildup, parts, and other details. First serious person gets the car. Yes, I have the title, and will sign it over on pickup.

It ran when I put it up. Was having some computer issues with the EGR if I recall correctly. Was a custom chip and whatnot, and needed a little tweaking.
Nothing mechanically wrong with it that I know of, other than the chip issue and the mysterious code 33 which baffled me. Maybe 10K on the motor, 9K on a new B&M 700R4 with Hughes hi-stall (locking) converter. Maybe 8K on the 3.73 posi rear with Auburn locker (10 bolt) & all new bearings and seals. Car has rear (alloy) drum brakes.
It has been sitting for at least 8 years, and will need at least a top-end teardown and cleanup due to corrosion/rust issues. This is a TPI car btw. billet LPE throttle body, ported stock plenum, after-market runners and intake (Accell). Also full SLP stainless exhaust (wrapped headers) & Hi-flow cat. TFS heads (early), TPIS roller cam (ZZ-9 if I remember), Crane lifters, Crower steel rockers. I think I changed the springs out too for the cam (you get the old springs too as a part of this + a bunch of other crap).
I am in Hillsboro.
Yeah, this is a lot of stuff...much money. Want it to go to the right person though....there's the rub.
