LS1 Brake upgrade braided steel line question

I'm in the process of doing the LS1 brake upgrade to all 4 corners, I need to get the back lines, and I fig I'd upgrade to braided steel at the same time. The stuff i got from the junkyard was missing all the rubber lines and I screwed the center one up disconnecting it, and my front brake lines are probably 20 years old and need changing, looking around it looks cheaper to get the front/rear as a kit than individuality, so I know I need the LS short lines for the rear calipers, will the rest of the soft lines work if I get them for an LS vs. a thirdgen?, its an 84 W/metric lines BTW (that's how I screwed up the middle line in the back)

Re: LS1 Brake upgrade braided steel line question

I was more tr ying to see if this kit https://www.hawksmotorsports.com/98-...rake-line-kit/ would work, the just the rear from flynbuy costs more and money is an issue, but im trying to get this thing on the road in the 2 weeks i have off starting next week, also i heard flynbuy can take a while to ship, im pretty sure the rear off the hawks kit will fit, im more worried about the front, from the pic theres a section of hardline on the banjo side of the lines and my factory ones dont have that. ( the factory ones supposedly fit with the ls1 setup)

Pretty sure you can use either the stock lines or the LS1 lines. No matter which setup you use you must use the LS1 banjo bolt. I used my factory style for my front as they had been previously upgraded to stainless.

Re: LS1 Brake upgrade braided steel line question

the banjo bolt is the one thing i still have to source, what is the difference between the stock and the LS1 style? just curious, also the hardline to softline ends are the same fittings on mine and the LS1 softlines correct?

I think the issue you might run into is the factory lines are like 5" longer than the ones for the LS1. They should be the same metric thread though. And I think the banjo bolt on the LS1 is longer or might be a different thread. You can get new ones on Rockauto.
