upgrading to C6 brakes. help me pick rotors
I will be ordering a C6 Z51 front brake kit from BBU but would like to see what my options are for rotors. The car will be a weekend cruiser. I would like a nice cross drilled rotor for the looks of it but there are so many on the market.
So, for those of you that are running aftermarket rotors, which do you use and why?
I can either use the stock OEM cross drilled rotors or step up to the Baer rotors. Im just not sure I like the battleship grey finish on the oem rotors. I want nice shinny rotors showing through my wheels

Where would you put the stock OEM rotors (177-0924) and the Baer rotors (2302049) in comparison to the Brembo rotors which I cant seem to find the part number to, yet.
I guess its kind of a stupid question considering that I will never be autocrossing this car. Ii guess Im just looking for looks more than performance. I'll obviously get a huge improvement in braking no matter what rotor I use.

12 corvette c4 rotor plus 3rd or 4th gen f body or c4 vette pbr parking brake calipers. Sorta fits style of c5/6 pbr front caliper and about all you need back there
Paint red to match
Baer has a .81x13 custom rotor if you want 13s but theyre expensive

Re: upgrading to C6 brakes. help me pick rotors
Im just looking for something simple and somewhat inexpensive. Ill need to buy adapter brackets to go from drum to disc and id like a rotor that matches the front. I dont care about the caliper looks as they will be black, I think. Car is an automatic but will still need to retain the emergency brake. I did have a 4th gen rear in my last one with disc that simple required two new cables. I think I remember having to buy "early design cables from a 91 car". That was a long time ago.
Im running 17" Weld RTS wheels. High pad in front and medium pad in the rear.

I just managed to track these calipers down locally for cheap money but I cant tell if they are C4, 1LE or 4th gen calipers. I am not familiar with the differences between all three of those calipers, if there is even a difference.
With that being said, can you shed some light on exactly what these are and if they will work for a drum to disc swap on a 92. Id will be going with the C6 Z51 front setup utilizing the oem drilled rotors so Id like to find a matching rear rotor if possible

Ok, so Im not going with the OEM Brembos pictured above. I have been informed by Scott at BBU that there is only one part number for these front rotors and cross drill pattern will not match the rear if I get a LH and RH rear cross drilled rotor. Now to look for another rotor

Those are 89-92 rear calipers that go with the 11.6 rear disc, same fitment as the 93-97 cars.

Re: upgrading to C6 brakes. help me pick rotors
I just went to go pick them up this morning. I paid $150 for both of them. They are brand new. Never had brake fluid in them and come with new GM pads. Seller told me they were removed from a 1992 rear axle that was ordered in 1992 for a new Z28 that came in for a leaking pinion seal. The dealer just replaced the entire axle assembly with one from the assembly line and the chose not to disconnect the brake calipers from the car so these calipers were just removed and tossed in a GM storage bin. Not a bad deal huh.
