Parking brake problem - rear swap from drum to discs

Parking brake problem - rear swap from drum to discs
Just trying to clarify what I need to do to get the Parking Brake working correctly.
I swapped out the 10 bolt drum brake rear end in my 86 camaro for a 9 bolt borg warner disc brake rear from a firebird.
After messing the tunnel adjuster for some time, I found that one cable seemed to be way shorter than the other. When I pulled on the parking brake, it was really really difficult to get it past a 45 degree angle and then when it locked, it just came back down on its own.
I took it into my mechanic, who messed with the parking brake lever itself and cleaned it with WD-40 and claimed that was the problem. He added the disc brake proportioning valve and replaced the rear calipers with remans.
I parked the car and put it in neutral, and applied the parking brake. The car rolls but the parking brake stays up at about halfway of its normal travel.
Do I need to buy the FRONT parking brake cable that goes from the parking lever to the tunnel adjuster and REAR LH and RH cables that go from the adjuster to the individual calipers?
I looked at the part numbers on the cables and the drum cables and disc cables have different part numbers.
When I had the drum rear in the car, the parking brake lever went all the way up to almost 90 degrees. In my 87, the parking brake lever goes all the way up to 90 degrees and the car will not roll in neutral.

the disc/ drum cables are different from the adjuster in the trans tunnel to the rear.
I don't know about modifying the cables, I just purchased the disc cables when I used the disc brakes from a 9bolt on my 10bolt drum rear.

definitely need the disc brake cables. the part number i used when swapping out the drum 10 bolt on my 87 to a 9 bolt w/ pbrs was dorman C94264. if they're iron calipers, you'll need different cables. If you do have the pbrs, make sure both cables are *identical*. i had to to swap out one of the cables i got because the ends were made differently and caused issues with correctly adjusting the ebrake.

Dorman C94264 cables are listed as 1434mm, but only good for 1990-92 cars according to Dorman. For 1989, which i figure would be for cars with the adjuster, would require C93858, which is what Dorman states for 89 cars. But they`re 54.6" (1387 mm).
I'm confused which set to get for my 85 drum car converted to PBR's. Everyone on this site says get the 1434mm cables, but Dorman says 1387mm.

So Dorman makes good quality cables? The ATP/Pioneer cables I have come across (specifically the transmission shifter cables) are a complete waste of time and money.
BTW, that is one nice looking IROC JamesC.

the dorman cables were pretty good quality from what i handled, but i did have a mismatched pair out of the box from them. ends were made differently, resulting in about a 1/2" difference in total length. my thoughts is either old stock or new supplier. however, i was able to get a matched set without issue and its not yet my daily driver, so no heartache here.

Re: Parking brake problem - rear swap from drum to discs
I have a G92 car, which now has a 10 bolt in it because the original 9 bolt disappeared. Does anyone know where to get the parking brake cable springs that attach to the caliper separately?
GM discontinued it after checking at work.

Nice! Thanks for the quick response, Ive been looking for these for a while. There should be a sticky list written for stock brake replacement parts containing who makes them and how to get a hold of them. GM isn't much help these days.
