Where's my Brake Fluid!?

I was out and about and the pedal got real spongy. I had a look at the MC and it was empty. Both Chambers had but a puddle in it. Theres nothing at the calipers and the lnes appear to be in good shape. My question is can this fluid get inside the booster? If so can i get it out of the booster? Worse than that, what happens if the engine consumes this brake fluid?

Is the the pressure differential switch light on the dash illuminated? The light would indicate a system failure.

I your reffering to the same light that comes on when the Parking Brake is set, then no, it's not on.

Is the MC wet on the underside where it bolts to the booster? Would indicate a rear leakign seal.

Re: Where's my Brake Fluid!?

The back of the master can leak and the fluid will go into the booster. If that happens, I would sugest replacing the booster as the brake fluid can eat at the rubber in the booster.

When was the last time you checked the fluid level and are your brake pads low?

My front pads are quite low and the rear are just like new seeing as they dont do a thing. I understand low pads would account for some fluid loss but this is empty, both reservoirs. There is no evidence of a leak at the back of the MC and the vacuum port and hose appear to be dry.

I would unbolt the master from the booster and check. Its only two nuts so it only takes a minute. Then you will know for sure.
