Re: LS1 e-brake Question

Can't get them at a stealership? I'm sure they have an AC part #. If not, I guess the best thing would be to get a few people together and have them shipped to one address.

Re: LS1 e-brake Question

I think I found these on a thread on one of the LS boards. According to them they aren't available separately only on a new full ebrake backing plate.

I agree shipping all to one address would be much cheaper for everyone that wants them. It's just if one person orders 10 sets he's out $150 and as I've seen in the past people tend to back out of the deal. I'd be willing to paypal someone the $15 plus a couple of bucks shipping to do this. That way the person wouldn't get stuck. $15 ain't much........and public opinion on here would tend to keep the person collecting the paypal payments honest. Aside from me being an honest person, being ostracized from TGO would be more than enough incentive not to take the money and run. If we do this though........we need to figure in what paypal takes for percentage and add that in.

That said, I'm in for one set.

Re: LS1 e-brake Question

I just finished my 3.73 rear/eaton posi/LS1 rear disk/4th gen master/disk-disk prop valve swap today. Been planning it for some time now and finally got the time to do it.

All I can say is getting the ebrake working was a total non-event. Nothing to even comment about at all. I installed the rear axle, then put the 4th gen ebrake handle in, took my 4th gen cable bracket and slid the front brake cable into it to set my location, marked it, attached it to the body, put the new 4th gen rear cables in and that was it. Works perfectly. I spent more time modifying the brake handle bracket to clear my console than I did messing with the brake cables. And that that stupid design of the handle and release button on the brake lever is a real pain to install, but got it after a few tries.

I was really surprised how well the little drum ebrake holds. Doesn't take much effort on the lever to lock the rear tires. Seems to hold way better than my old full size drum ebrakes did.
