C4 HD brake vs LS1 brake upgrade
I'm been looking on flynbye.com and bigbrakeupgrade.com and confused which brake kit is better? Also which has cheaper replacement parts? I'm looking for the best stopping power for my $.

Re: C4 HD brake vs LS1 brake upgrade
I personally run the HDs inside my stock 16" 1991 alloys and love them, no stopping problems at all. Here's a short list of highlights on each kit:
HDs:
Full 13" x 1.1" rotor
twin piston C4 caliper
pad guided caliper
adds .600" to track width
LS1s:
12" x 1.25" rotor
pin guided caliper (smoother operation)
larger pad area over HDs
Price on replacement parts will depend on where you get them and what level of quality you can get. FYI, both HD and LS1 rotors can run you $40-50 each and pads can range from $20-70 depending on what type you get.
One thing to note and it's the only "con" I can think of on either kit. Over time and hard use the LS1 calipers can spread causing uneven pad wear. I have not heard of or experienced this on HD calipers.
I think I sent you an e-mail on your question as well but I hope this cleared up the questions. I am usually here for you guys to answer your questions as best I can. If 17" wheels are an option run C5s without question. Thanks!
