Wierd Sqeualing During Braking and Around Turns..
Last night, while driving my car with the radio off/tops on/windows up, i noticed there is a slight (although definitely audible) squeal when i press the breaks any more than like 1/3 way down. Approximately 3,000 miles ago my father and I replaced the front brake pads, had the rotors cut, and greased the wheel bearings so i would find it hard to believe that something is wrong there, however i guess its not out of the question. The car has 32,000 miles on it so it also seems improbable that it would need new drums in the back because from my experience they seem to go at around 45-50k miles on thirdgens.
I also noticed that i get the exact same [sounding] squeal when doing moderate cornering on country roads at like 40+ mph.
Any clue what this might be? My father (an ex-GM mechanic) thinks that if the brake pads (AC Delco Durastop Performance Pads) have some metal in them, it could be making the sound when braking because it would be metal-on-metal. This doesnt, however, explain the sound during cornering. He also said it could be due to the drums being down to the rivets, which would also produce a metal-on-metal squeal. Again, this doesnt really explain the sound during cornering.
Any ideas??

Re: Wierd Sqeualing During Braking and Around Turns..
it is the pads my rs started the noise after i upgraded to pbr rear disc
my girlfriends 96 firebird with pbr rear brakes also did the same thing
normaly the sound is made when just driveing noise stopping after brakes applied
i know when i turn my c4 front pbrs make the same noise untill i apply the brakes
noise gose away
with cheapo pads up front the noise is much worse then with full ceramic pads
the delco pads are semi metallic same as most cleapo pads
when i had the semis all around id hear the noise when driveing or when stopping
but with ceramics the noises have stopped
i think its something to do with metallic pads
