no they don't stay that way. what they do though is keep the center veins from rusting and the area that doesn't hit the pad. my baer rotors have been rust free since i bought them though which is quite impressive. my powerstop rotors i bought from gm rusted up after the first week where the pads touched.

Thats the only thing I hate about having the 4th gen WS6 wheels (17") and the 4th gen brakes. I wanted to paint the rotors in the non-contact areas with brake paint...but didnt get around to it. Figured Ide do it when I painted the calipers. But...the rust didnt hold out that long. They are already rusted up. And I dont even drive the car in the rain!!! It makes the nice polished wheel, and the clean brake calipers look like crap!
I think Im going to try to wire wheel it all and paint it with either brake caliper spray paint, or Por 15... Por 15 wont let the rust in for sure...but I dont know how it stands up to the temp that rotors get to.
Justin
Edit: Or... has anyone had any experience with these rotors from ebay?? They are zinc....and drilled and all that jazz. Its for af ront and rear set, and they have a "Best offer" option...which should drop the cost alittle. Might go this route if I can find some feedback on the brand instead of wasting my time painting.
