ls1 backing plate

does anyone know where you can buy the 1998-2002 backing plate with e-brake new? or does anyone have a set in decent shape that they would like to sell? i have tried my local dealership and they say that they do not carry them anymore and i can not find a website that sells them.

I bought a complete setup on ebay for less than 200.00 a couple weeks back. I've searched a couple times and pieces come up from time to time. You might check ebay once a week. Make sure they have good feedback. There's a lot of rip off artists there.

Hey ED, i emailed you about a week ago and never got a reply, i thought maybe you were too busy so i was just going to try elsewhere. but anyway, are these new or used? LMK? i already have the calipers and abutments so i only need the backing plate, cables and cable brackets. do you have cables already done up? i remember reading a thread where you were trying to make some up. it is for a 92 z28 with a moser 12 bolt.

Sorry for not getting back to you, I've been trying to catch up on mail and such, I'll get back to you tonight. The plates are used but in good shape. I only have one setup so I'd be breaking it up for you but it's just sitting right now so I can part with it. I have the whole setup as well as the cable brackets but I'm also going to try to have custom brackets made up as well so you won't need the bigger, bulky LS1 brackets..the cables will work the same.

The test cables shipped to the vendor today and I hope to have the test set back soon and I'll keep you guys posted with a new thread and such.

I'll post up with the price when I have it, it will be based on the number of cables that I order. I have three sets of Baer Eradispeed rear LS1 rotors on hand, one used and two brand new. I'll be more than happy to have the used set zinc washed again for you. I'll PM you later today with more info.

Do you still have the backing plates, and are they for a traction control equipped z28? I am interested in purchasing them, do you have any pic?

I was wondering if anyone can tell me the bolts to buy from Fastenal for the caliper abutment to backing plates please. I have searched and searched to no avail. Only found ones for front C5 conversion but not rear LS1s.

Thanks,
Peter

I am particularly interested to see the condition of the rubber boot that covers the end of the parking break leaver that connects to the backing plate. Also the working function of the components, i.e. does the leaver spring back into place?

Srhansen is first in line as he was first interested in these but I can get another set quickly, I'll let you know if he doesn't take them and if I do get another set. Are the backing plates the only parts you need?

Looks like the set I have on hand are sold but I can have another setup next week if you'd still like the plates. Do you need TCS? LMK...

Yes.. I just send two sets out for powdercoating and I think I have one more just used set lying around. I'll get with you later today.

Cables: I'll call and check today, they should be done or very close to it.

I have two setups with the black plates powdercoated, the zinc part of the plates are going out for replating as well..they'll look brand new except for the rubber boots on the brake lever. Those always look like crap. Still need a set?

The cables aren't finished yet, they're still waiting on one part to connect the cable to the e-brake lever.
