Thermo Quiets
Has anybody had any experience with the Wagner Thermo Quiet brake pads. I have bought a set today at Piston Ring. But the guy at the counter asked if it had the performance option. I said I wasn't sure. (by the looks of these pads (front) it looks like the dual caliper design. It has two crowns on the backing side of the plate, one at each end. So now I am guessing that the performance option would be for the 1LE option. Does anybody know for sure? They were recommended as being pretty good but not cheap. The part # from Wagner is MX413 rear and MX 412.
Thanks Darrell

the number you need is a mx194, i deal with those pads every day at work, and are worth it for daily driving.but if you want to buy better pads i would get the sx154 pads. those are severe duty, and they lasted a full season on a friends oval track asphalt car with about 1/2 - 3/4 life left when we took the car apart at the end of the season, and that was the right front. but bewarned, get good rotors with them. and the rear number is mx413.

Hey quix99, thanks for the info. the car is a daily driver. I have picked up the thermo quiet and will probably stick with them. At $168 cdn. I just have to return the MX 412 for the front and get the proper ones. I didn't think that they were going to be that expensive. $168 cdn for the front set. At least the proper ones will be a little bit cheaper. The rotors I have are in good shape. Not sure what brand they are though. You mentioned to have good rotors. What will these pads do if they are not high quality rotors?

Most likely, eat them alive. the sx is a really hard pad in compound, the mx will do fine though.
