rear caliper mounting bolt part number
Hey guys, I need some help with GM part numbers
'91 Z28 with 4wheel disc brakes (1LE package)
- rear caliper mounting bolts - the shop manual states that these are bolts you must pitch and replace with new ones when replaceing rotors or pulling off the calipers
I'm trying to buy new ones with no luck - unless of course I have the wrong part numbers/part description
I'm not sure if I have the correct description - is the bolt I'm after called a) rear caliper mount bolt or b) rear caliper plate and bracket bolt? The bolt that attaches the caliper housing to the axle bracket...
I'm up in Canada and the part numbers that I have from a search are #10112649 rear caliper plate and bracket bolt and 10097602 rear caliper mount bolt - none of which work at a Canadian GM dealer
Maybe you guys have a NAPA part number or atleast can fill me in with the correct name of the bolt.
I would appreciate it v-much

James,
I found 1 bolt that sort of matches your description - M12*1.75*19.25 - GM Delco part # 179-975
Is this the same thing? If you could, could you check here http://www.acdelco.com/html/pi_main_new.htm
Thanks
-Andrew

Oops, the correct number, the number I used (and the number in my write-up on the PBR brake conversion, he said with a shamed face) is 10164181.

I'm not questioning your part number - its just that GM has two sets of numbers - the one that you have is correct, but it is an American number.-This is what I have found out:
Delco part # 179-975 is the same as GM OE # 10164181 - there are two bolt desigantions
1. M12*1.75*19.25
and
2. M12*1.75*21
both come up under the same delco and OE numbers?
The one bolt is just a little bit shorter than the other and the dealer tells me that to use the 19.25mm bolt as a replacement for the 21mm is acceptable.
DO you guys agree that I can substitiute the 19.25mm for the 21mm? There is such a small difference that I can't seem to see the harm but I'm nop expert - any comments?
