rear brake noise "ticking"

Reciently I have noticed that when I am stoping in my 91 Z that the rear driver side brake set up seems to be making a ticking noise. Does anyone know what might be causing the "ticking" sound? Sorry I am not being verry specific, but that is the best way I can describe it. thanks for any info.

Check rotors for being warped or unevenly worn? Check the pads for uneven wear as well.

I'd say next step is checking for a bent axle. My brakes made a noise every revolution when I had a bent rear axle. The rotor doesn't spin on a perfect axis if the axle flange is bent at all, and the rotor makes more contact at a certain point in rotation than other points.

Make sure it's not something simple like some brake part making contact with the rim as the wheel spins?
