Rebuilt Front Calipers

Are the AutoZone rebuilts @ $14 each reliable? The calipers in my car are original, and after 22 years, need to be refreshed, as the car pulls left after a few straight panic stops. Must be the front, as I just rebuilt the rears, and the brake light still shines. Also seems to need a new prop valve, as the rears are still only so-so; but at least they no longer leak, and now have the newer piston. Now, what is the model # of that better valve? And are any plumbing mods necessary? Better yet, is there a huge parts list for our cars, as the dealer can't find a thing on his crummy computer.

Thank You.

Seth

Have you checked your brake hoses?

I do plan on replacing the hoses, but since the pull is only after some panic stops, it must be heat-related. The calpier seal is affected by heat long before the hose. Right? Thanks again.

I don't know if it is or not, but the $14 rebuilt calipers are probably more reliable than your original ones anyway.

As long as I can locate some new copper washers, rebuilt fronts are the project for Saturday.

Thanks

They give you the washers with the calipers crush washers right. I have used then and have had no troubles. The only things I dont like to buy from them is electrical parts like starters and alts. Replace the flex lines too they start to break down from the inside out which causes breaking probles like stuck calipers and pulling on one side or other or a leak.
