US Brake oversize calipers
Has anyone tried these? I see them listed in the Summit catalog, and on a number of retail websites. They claim to be stock fitting GM iron calipers except with a bigger piston. Will they work on a J65 car with the 10.5 inch rotors and take the stock 154 pads?
I have been unable to locate any contact info on the manufacturer, I don't think they have a website.
Any info on these?

I found these a while ago but I'm leaning towards the C4 Heavy Duty right now.

You have contact info for US Brake? Do they have a website? I have searched and found nothing for a factory direct contact.
I agree, these look like they may offer some level of performance upgrade to the J65 cars, even with the crappy 10.5 inch rotors, without spending $1 large on 1LE or whatever else. Face it, anything would be an improvement over a stock J65 setup, so don't poo-poo this option for those of us on a limited budget, with no access to welders, machine shop, etc.....
You can get aftermarket slotted or cross drilled rotors for the J65s, I've found. Those, with Stillen pads, and these bigger calipers may make a decent, and cheap upgrade. Just what the doctor ordered for the daily drivers who never go to the track.
The question is about these oversize calipers, not about 1LE, C4, C5 or anything else, thanks.

You have to trust me when I highly suggest you not waste your time messing with the 10.5" rotors for any kind of spirited driving. The rotor size can not take the heat that better pads will induce upon them, and especially the added caliper force of aftermarket units like U.S. Brake, Wilwood, And Howe GM metric replacements for teh D154 pad config.
I have screwed with every rotor availiable and have warpped themall over the last aprox 10 years. The more I built this car the worst that got- also realize I have a lightweight V6 car, and not a heavier V8.
The better the brakes work, the harder you will use them, the more frequent you'll be turning the 10.5" rotors. Stopping power was never the problem, reliabilty was (I am turning rotors every 3 months)
PS- lets see, we have c4, c5, and hummm.......w6 (as in Wilwood 6pot major ing power )

You don't have to drop $1K on 1LEs or the like. A very good 13" C4 setup will be around $800 or so. We're jsut giving you other options to consider...if you choose to stick with the small rotors, so be it.

also tremo i did the c5 brakes and did it myself and it cost about 580 , the hardest thing to do is to drill and tap the holes for the brackets . You have to get hubs machined , that was 40 bucks for me . and my uncle had the brackets made , so for less than 700 at the most it could be done if you did it all yourself . I really noticed a big difference, the stock brakes really suck after you upgrade. I go with ebmiller , save up and go to the biggest size you can fit under your rims.
