Best filler for platic GFX?

what would be the best filler for dented plastic GFX? like a side skirt? are you supposed to pull out the dent first, or can you do that with plastic?

You can check out my site for some info.

We have a <A HREF="http://www.gmtips.com/3rd-degree/dox/tips/paint/dent/body-01.htm">Third Gen Body Repair In Progress</A>.

We repaired cracks in the front spoiler. You can use traditional body filler with no problems. You want to make sure it's prepped right and filler is no thicker than a nickel.

hey MikeInAZ, i just purchased some of that repair material for my front gfx, but what im wondering is.. how do you make the v-groove? do you need a special tool to do it, or would something laying around in the garage work perhaps? thanks!

Any type of file would work. We used the edge of a disc sander. A dremel tool would work great too. What you're trying to do is create a V instead of having two edges butt together.

V instead of ||

This gives the pieces something to grip too. This is the same process in restoring an old cracked steering wheel also. You have to V the crack, actually make it bigger to get better grip.

I've done the same things that you have done MikeInAZ. Using the da sander really makes things go by faster The only hard spot I have came accross is my rear quarter fender well.The previous owner had got backed into by her husband and really fuged it up.
