****ing Car Wash Destroyed My Paint Job!
I decided while filling up to get the works wash at the car wash, with that blue corel ****. I was gonna wash it by hand and wax her today, but I thought this would save me some time. Well I get home right and I'm looking at the hood and I'm like, what the ****!!
So I thought maybe having no heat mat **** over the engine did it, then I notice the roof looks the same and so does the back trunk lid, and it kinda flows over the edges alittle bit.
WHAT THE HELL, I went back there and bitched and they were all like, of you can't prove it and all this **** and I got there info and I said, **** YOU STUPID *** RED NECK (Apology to my friend trey whom is black and hates it when I do that)
I was pissed off, so now my car looks like Manny's no offence man, but my paint is only 2 years old.
I'm wondering if I might be able to buff this back to normal or what not, my insurance agent says no paint job

Is it swirl marked to hell? I made the same mistake, went back to bitch and he said I can't prove anything. It was at a DIY car wash and they had "clearcoat safe" foaming brushes. So I tried it after washing them out, and I have swirl marks galore on my 5 year old paint. I'm gonna get it buffed, and then Zaino it when we get some good weather. Good luck.

If the paint got messed up my buddy would not give me the rest of the money for this car when he gets back from tour, and he'd probably want the 1000 bucks back I've already got which I spent on the other car

something similar happened to me last summer... i use a DIY wash and always just soak then wash with a bucket and rinse...
in a hurry one day and outta soap, so i figure 'what the heck' and use the 'soap' setting to save some time...
lucky, if you can say that, that it's only the rubber and only the front, so a bra covers it til i get new paint...

yeah, just the wand with a trigger... sprayed on the soap and it looked sorta weird. flipped the lever to rinse, hosed it off, and had this weird psychadelic pattern on my front bumper cover and gfx like there was something in the soap... bummer...

I hope you're ****ing joking about ruining the gas station attendants car. That's just sick, the kid has no control over the car wash.....
If you are serious, I think we should cut both your hands off so you can't do it.

It most likely comes from the tire cleaner that they run through the same nozzles. I ruined a paint job on a 86 Accord in 88 in a DIY carwash. That will make you sick. Bucket wash only!

Listen, if you ever have to use an auto wash always go with a touchless place. Think about it, some podunk drives into town uses the car wash to clean 6 months worth of rust, mud and gravel off his car, then you drive in and get everything that didnt rinse off the brushes applied striaght onto your car. If you decide to not use touchless, save yourself some time and wash your car with a rusty brillow pad. Sorry if i am ranting but i hate it when people dont take care of their cars.
Sorry, just noticed you said the place was touchless! Some places will actually reuse their water, maby their filters wern't changed and some debris got thru. Anyway I will leave my previous comments up so those that don't know will.

If some people were offended, I'm sorry about the comment
but I know how that guy feels about those automated car washes. About four years ago I took my brother's 73 camaro to one, and the 5 dollar an hour Flunky had just put in those new washing mops and I waited about 20 minutes for him to finish and in I go and after wiping it down the scratches looked like it had sandpaper taken after it, went to the flunky just shrugged his shoulders, then I went to the manager and gave her an ear full she said that she or the carwash owner are not responsable for damage, the owner wanted to make me happy but I was thoughly PI$$ED and offered me a free wax job.
And later that afternoon I found out that an older lady put her newer Caddy in it, it was scratched very badly and a Young ***** in a fancy Honda also came out the same way.
The lady in the Caddy got a lawyer and the ***** took some paint remover to the owner's new jeep.
Well my brother was not a happy camper he wanted to rearange the guy's face.

Im not a fan of any auto-car wash but if you have to do it here is some advice...
RULE #1 PRESSURE IS BAAAAAAD
ONLY pull the trigger all the way when your spraying under the car or the tires....when your spraying soap off, dont even pull the trigger. the 20lbs of pressure that those things put off at idle is enough to get soap off
RULE #2 dont be afraid of the brush, unless it looks real bad.
take the pressure gun thingy and clean that brush out for a good 15 seconds. (exception to rule#1)
RULE #3 when your using the brush, dont get mad at it. be gentle. remeber it is your baby...even if it takes you longer

i would NEVER take my car to a car wash
New Jersey is currently under heavy water restrictions from this "drought" we have (McGreevey sucks!), so washing our cars is out of the question..........the only way my car can be washed is if i take it to a car wash...............hell no
