Tan Interior
I’ve been reading these boards for awhile now. I haven’t seen many tan interiors. Also, our local Camaro salvage yard doesn’t have any tan interior parts. How rare are the tan interiors (Especially the ones with leather)? Are they more expensive then the more common interiors (red, gray, black)? Anyone you would recommend buying an interior from? Anyone have any of these tan pieces (Maybe a drivers side tan leather Seat) for a 1992 Camaro?
Thanks
Jeff

Actually I've seen lots of Camaro's and Firebirds on this board with Tan Interiors.. It's the Medium Beechwood interiors that are rare..

Is the med. beechwood rare in all of our cars, or just the 92? I have an 88 IROC with the med beechwood interior and am looking for part (seats, etc). Is it going to be hard to find this stuff? If so, just might tear it out and go black.

88aziroc - I think this color is rare in all years it was produced.. Yes you will find it quite hard to locate parts. I have to paint to match parts, the most popular color I've seen is the Tan. I had thought of going black.. But since parts are so hard to find for my color.. I think I'll keep it.. and make it look better.

Yeah it seems the tan isn't popular. I am definitely keeping mine. I think our interiors are too bland for black seats as well as all those acres of black plastic
The right tan interior can look sharp.

The reason Tan interiors aren't popular is that they get dingy and they fade horribly... Its hard to find replacement parts because they fade so quickly that they don't last long in the junkyards, etc...

I had a tan interior ever so long ago... now it's black with charcoal grey leather. I do still have most of the Tan stuff though, it's the zebra striped kind...

i think for my 87 Z28 i'm going to go with a tan interior
2 1989-1993 style corvette saddle tan seats
and tan everything else...........
i'm removing the rear seats and putting my rollbar bacl there
i also wanna construct some sort of storage "cubbies" like vettes have for back there

Take a walk thru a salvage yard... tan/saddle/neutral, etc turn white from UV rays... same goes for red interiors.. Black turns purple/blue, gray turns white/yellow, etc.. The tan and gray are by far the worst as far as stains go since they're both light colors and dirt, oil, etc tend to permenently stain them.

I have the tan/beachwood leather interior in my GTA and i like it. Only problem with it is that if something breaks or gets messed up the parts are hard to come by.

my car has the tan leather interior. its a little dirty, but its in good shape for its age. its not the full leather cause its got cloth in it too. i have only seen a couple camaros with the full leather option, and they are probably more rare. i agree with night hawk, it does give it a feel of more class for the car and i think it gives it more of a luxary look to it too. i give a thumbs up on tan interiors only with certain body colors. here's a pic of mine. more on my page.

just looked at an 84 or 85 SE Firebird tonight, yep you guessed it, tan interior again! outside is a off wihte/light yellow mix, got a 2.8L in it that is probably junk, is 5 speed with GT4 rear, so hmm, i dunno if i want to get it or not, would have to V8 it, but damn lot of work to convert it to v8....
interior is nice clean shape though little different style seats, but still, is tan, the rear folds down in this one too. now that i think aobut it i dont think the rear are buckets like in the Z28, hmmm.... 60/40 ? hmmm.,,,,
