Getting headlight **** off

I'm gonna replace some bulbs in my 92 rs tomorrow. Last time I messed with the cluster I couldn't figure out how to get the headlight **** off to remove the outside bracket. Probably really simple but I'd like to know first to save time. Thanks.

their is a small spring-loaded button on the side of the switch. push this button and pull the rod straight out. The button is kind of hard to get to, though. Its behind the dash panel, so you have to reach up and behind the dash if I remember right.

i just changed some bulbs 2 weeks ago. i ended up just pulling the **** off (probably not the best thing to do, but i was getting pissed ) . then i took the metal insert (in the ****) out and bent the tab out a little. everything was inserted nice and tight.

There is a button, it isn't all that hard to get to, just feel around the switch, that way you have dont' ahve to worry about the possibility of breaking something.

Go to the parts store first and look at a new switch so you know what you're looking for.

Yeah I found it and I used it. What I found out though is that you need to pull it out to the lights on position before you push the button. At first when I held the button in with the lights off position, it wouldn't pull out. Thanks for the help guys.
