Here's a stupid question.....

How do you take the shifter **** off for an auto 'bird? I'm trying to remove the console so i can fix a few cosmetic blemishes (the vinyl is starting to seperate from the sides). There's a little notch/opening on the front of the **** near the base but i don't know know what i have to do next.......

Pop the cover off (if there is one) from the spot you described with a small screwdriver then pull the clip out. The handle pulls off after that.

Okay i tried pulling the little clip out with some needle-nose pliers but it won't budge. The pliers won't hold hard enough to let pull the sucker out. Is there any special trick to doing this?

Red,

Can you let me know what you're planning to do to reattach that separating vinyl and how it works out for you? Thx!

Take a really small screwdriver.... (you have any computer screwdrivers? Thats what I would use..)
