im getting new springs to lower my car, help me out guys.

ok guys I don't know a damn thing about springs, i have an 84 camaro sport coupe with stock ride height, it looks so high off the ground it i hate it, i want to lower it enough so it looks agressive but at the same time i dont want to go over speed bumps at 5 inches an hour. i also want springs that will give me better shock absorbtion, it feels like a boat when I go over bumps, or do I have to get new shocks to fix that problem? how much would it run me for some good springs, im on a budget, oh and what else can i do to lower my car?

Here is my two. Both have been lowered and it was by using different springs. The Camaro has Intrax springs and the Formula has Sportline springs. Both ride rather firm, but I prefer the Intrax springs cause the ride is a little better.

To lower a car properly I would recommend getting the front spindles that lower your car rather than getting shorter springs. In the rear there is no other choice for lowering your car, springs is all you can do.

If you just get shorter springs you change the geometry of your front suspension and you might be asking for some headaches in the future...

I have to disagree. Yes spindles do work but with the stock springs but why bother. The upside to the springs is you get them stiffer to firm up the suspention. As far as changing the geometry, spindles do the same only they move the point of applied leverage. Upside is it is no prob to adjust the camber on our cars to your desired settings and on the rear use Spohn LCA relocation brackets. I would not us spindles w/ stock srings in the front and aftermarkets on the rear unless a poor handling car is what you are seeking.
