front seat belts replacement
Need to replace the front seatbelts on my '89 RS (the retractors in the roof end don't work). Anyone got some advice/instructions for replacement of these parts, as my Haynes manual doesn't credit these items with a mention!

GM part# 20681871, it is a spring cover retainer that goes in the roof. one end attaches to the notched end of the retractor and the other goes on the other end (duh) but anyway you need two of them and they are $9.95 a piece

If you want to replace the entire thing, you can take off the plastic stip that runs along the inside roof right in front of the back window, take off the speaker covers, and the plastic piece that is at the back of the side windows, or whatever you need to get the headliner down. If you are careful, you can pull the headliner down far enough to remove the two bolts holding the seatbelt mechanism to the roof. Then remove the bolt holding it on the floor. Install in reverse. It isn't too bad, just be very careful not to mess up your headliner.

Front seat belts
Gents,
Thanks for your input. I just need to wait for a few weeks for the rain and snow to stop (no garage!), in order to fix it.
Many thanks,
Paul
