Engine: Stock L98 with bolt ons.
Transmission: Stock rebuilt tranny with 2k stall and cooler.
I just picked up a set of 99 TA black leather seats, here's a few pics:
Before:
After:
I still have to wire up the pass. seat and run the air tubes but otherwise Im real happy with them, a nice upgrade without a doubt. The cloth sets can be had dirt cheap and like new, the leathers are expensive if newer but set the car off nice and they are comfortable as well....

I like your roll cage. Is that one you can order?
If so, how much, who makes it, part number, and how hard to install?
Thanks

roll cage i ordered from steve sphoon , only to find out he didnt make it but is a dealer from a s and w racer place i think that was the name, anyhow orginial i ordered a 10point cage to install in my 86z28 but changed my mind and used it in my formula, well , its kinda custom after that, , it was supposed to look like a regular cage, with swing out bars and all , but when i got done it involled into something new , , as far as being easy, im sure if anyhow has a garage and a flat surface and a mig welder, then it would be a easy install, hardest part is welding over the gas tank, i wasnt to thrilled about that, but for me it was a pain in the ***, i eventually had to recut some of the cage with a saw and shorten it, so my passenger side 4th gen door panel would shut, i was about a half a inch off center , thats why i havent put any padding on the door bars, not enough room for it, have to find some padding that not as thick, or just use yellow electric

That is the sweetest 4th gen swap I've seen! Please give us some more details about how you did the door panels and dash! How long did it take you, and how much customization did it take?

wow thanks guys, for all the great comments, like un4given said i have a site, its nothing great, but it might give anyone trying this swap, some info and help, i wont lie i do have alot of hours invested but i had nothing but time, and i got a great deal on all the 4th gen stuff from a wrecked 96 firehawk, so i had nothing to loose actualy, anyhow my 383 been in the shop getting built, yes took for ever before i found someone to build me a freaking motor, ???
anyhow motor getting ready to be droped back in , hopefully before drag season opens up in march,, got a lt1 conversion intake on the way from john, , well the rest of the car is just a regular formula, that i put trans am ground effects on, ram air 2 hood and 4th gen spoiler, and two front trans fenders, car needs a paint job bad, and fenders and hood needs lineing up, but at this point in not real worried about it till i get the car running, so i can see if my guages will work, bascially i just uesed the old guages and put them in the 4th gen frame kinda, hopefully it will work but wont know till motor is in, i allso have to go through to find my engine light and all that fun stuff, so i have alot to do yet, actually
but i plan on a pretty tricked out paint job when im done, i draw anyhow, and plan on painting the car myself so that will be the cheapest and easiest project for my ride, anyhow sorry this post was long but here are some more pic,s

I don't know if anyone will like this answer, but I have a cure for the desire to swap a 4th gen interior into a 3rd gen. I recently bought an '01 WS6 T/A, now I have no desire to do a swap. In a lot of ways, I prefer the 3rd gen interior. The 3rd gen had no squeaks or rattles when new, the 4th gen has plenty. I prefer the cluster layout of the 3rd gen over the squished 4th gen. The line of the 3rd gen dash is much cleaner.
What I do like about the 4th gen interior is that the dash is one complete unit, versus all the pieces mishmashed together in the 3rd gen dash. What I plan to do is to clean up some of the lines on the 3rd gen dash, but leave the character there. But I think the character of the interiors already match the cars personality.
Later, Dave '91 GTA, '91 T/A, '01 WS6

ok, i am going to order all the interior parts from speed automotive. My question is,I like the one that is posted, but is is from a firebird, will it be any harder to install it because it is from a firebird rather than a camaro like mine? thanks

ok, I've got an 84 trans am, and I just got ALL the intereior peices from a 97 trans am. I know the seats work fine, but I was just curious about the carpet and the console, the 97 was an auto, and mine is a stick, so I know I'll need a new shifter plate, but is everything else the same. and what about power window switches? And how does the console fit in and everything? Please give me all the info you can.
Thanks in advance,
Brady

If you are just doing seats and console, the console will be the hardest for you snce you have a camaro and your center console is connected to the heater/radio pod. On the birds, they are 2 separate units, making the swap easier.

Looking on the Speed Automotive site I noticed they must have made some changes between the 96 and the 97 models for the interior console. Does anyone know what the differences are there between these years?

Ok i have got a question i really want to do a 4th gen dash and door panels but i have autometer gauges that i want to use. I was thinking that i could fab up a panel to house the gauges 2 5 inch gauges and 3 2 and 1/16 inch gauges but will they fit in the housing or not. And finally if i use aftermarket gauges how can i set up the dummy lights any info is appreciated thanks Dave.

One more question... In all the photos of 4th gen consoles I only saw them in firebirds. I was wondering if someone has picks of those around the radio area. The lower console on the camaros dont break at the radio are like they do on the firebird. I think I saw a picture of one but the steering wheel was blocking the view.

Here is my door panel, looks good doesn't it? Too bad it wouldn't fit right with the 3rd gen dash.
Everything you do with the 4th gen dash is going to be custom.
Easiest way and the only way I can think of to get the stock 4th gen gauges to work is to do an engine/tranny and ECM swap at the same time.
