How do you make a hood?
Does any one got a good way to make some effective "ram air" scoops? Using original hood? (1991 TA stock hood) I have a basically endless supply of sheet metal, bod fill, fiberglass. Anyone done it and have some pics of it???

To start with it would be cheaper to buy one. The best way to put ram air on is from the front bumper. This is popular on the camaro so maybe you could do a little research and make one fit your firebird. Last, putting any kind of scoop on your hood would be useless as it would have to be about 8 to12 inches high before it would ingest air. This is because the hood becomes a low pressure area above 40 MPH. The front bumper and cowl area (windshield) are high pressure areas that would be the ideal location for ram air. Hood scoops would only let hot air out of the engine compartment or starve your motor from air.
