Recaro gfx
82 Trans Am Recaro had those little skirts on the front clip/front quarter pannel.. and the bulge before the rear tire..
are those fiberglass?.. plastic? (like the front clip on newer birds.. i dunno about the older ones) or metal?
any place reproduce them?
i'm looking for gfx that isn't the TA's and that's subtle to put on my formula... that'd be perfect (almost)...
in the picture.. imagine the front end lowered a bit so it dosn't look so much in the air, an 86-90 trans am spoiler.. same hood..
i dunno..
what's u'r opinion and if u know of any place that sells something like that..?

They are plastic. They were the 82-83 TA stock gfx (except Daytona Pace Car which used aero gfx, seen on 84 TA and similar in appearance to 85-90 style).
I am still looking for a set myself, to finish my resto. Classic Industries MAY sell them, but their pics and product descriptions don't match up in my catalog, so I am leary. Otherwise I haven't found any place else that might have them.
As for looks, those gfx with the power bulge hood, are my favorite looking TA, but I am biased. I have seen a set or two come across ebay. You may want to try some of our sponsors or www.tacreationsusa.com If you want other styles of gfx you can click the following link to browse to your heart's content.

Ive come across several sets in my journys to junk yards.
Problem is...THEY ARE AN ABSOLUTE PAIN IN THE NECK TO GET OFF!!! most of the times the screws that hold them on the wheel well (im talking about the rear set) are totaly rusted on. The front sets are not too bad to take off. But most yards Ive been to have the car setting on a block or something and guess what...they smash a perfect front set of ground fx.
Ive managed to piece together a set for my 84 firebird. Just need to take the time to put them on.
The rear set has a large screw that goes through the lower rocker panel. You have to take apart the interior panel in the backseat area....pull away some vapor barrier and some how manage to contort your arm into the little hole to get at the screw....HOW DID GM GET THESE THINGS ON THERE and BOY they make it hard to remove parts from their cars.
Ive been able to purchase these parts for about 10 bucks for the set. Good luck with your search. I haven't seen anything like that in resto catalogues so you may have to go junk yard hopping.

My old 83 *had* them. The rear driver side one was torn off by a tire blow out, and the pass. side one was squished by a rock. I never replaced them because I could never figure out how to get em off.
The front ones were fine.
Now that I think about it their are a few 82/83 SE's at the local junkyard, next time im there ill take a look at the trim pieces.
