Plastic piece that covers guages

I am currently redoing my guages with homemade white
guage faces. Well I have it torn apart I thought I would
get a new plastic piece that covers the guages. The old
one is all scratched up. I called the local dealer and they
want $49.99.
I think that is a little steep but I may spring for it if I can't
get the old one looking good....
Does anybody know of a way to polish this plastic piece
and get all the scraches out of it so it will look new again?

THANKS!

I used Mothers Plastic Polish on mine and it turned out very nice, I guess it depends on how scratched up yours is but it is still cheaper to try it before spending $50 on a new one. Be sure to use somthing on the line of a cloth diaper so it doesn't get even more scratched.

I have used Mothers polish on my plastic console plate. (firebird) It seriously made the console look brand new. I used a "furry" pad on a mechanical buffer. Move across the plastic quickly to avoid heating and warping it. It will take out very deep scratches and save lots of money.

No parts stores here carry Mothers Mirror Glaze. I had to settle for Meguars... I think they are a pretty good brand and if it don't take the scratches out I can take it back... I'll let you know how it works...

THANKS!

Well NM the Retards at O'Reily's sold me Meguars Detailer.. Its not Mirror glaze. They don't carry mirror glaze cause they are gay. I also tryed CarQuest and Autozone and neither carry Mothers Mirror glaze. I also tryed Wal-mart. I asked all these
places if they could order it and they all say no... On mothers website I see I can order it threw them but I would rather not pay shipping if I don't have to.....

Do you know anywhere else I could get Mothers Mirror Glaze??

Thanks again for your help...

I swear by Meguiar's. Nearly all of their stuff is top notch. Just my 2 cents.

Bill,
It's not Mother's Mirror Glaze, it is Mother's Plastic Polish. I don't kow whether you have been asking for the wrong stuff or what. I bought mine at Car Quest, but I have seen it in other part stores, it's great stuff. If you need anything just shoot me an email!

Just look for any name brand plastic polish. 3M, Mothers, Meguires, Zaino, etc... they'll all work. My preference is Zaino, but then again when I bought it I had money coming out of my ears...
