E36 headlights like they should be
While waiting for my exhaust system to come back from being powder coated, I decided to knock out the E36 headlights modification. The BMW headlight buckets were grafted to the Camaro fiberglass headlight support. I wanted to do minimal cutting to the radiator bulkhead and maintain the original fender mounts. I feel it looks like an OEM installation.

Re: E36 headlights like they should be
Sorry to rain on your parade, especially since you did it better than most, but anything that hacks up the core support without welding it back up and reinforcing it somehow isn't how it should be. The E36 headlights still don't fill up the headlight buckets. Nowadays that headlight mod is outdated when you can just open up the back of the headlight clam (Nothing structural cut and you can still swap back and the entire project can be done in an hour) and install a set of these LED projectors.

This does look to be one of the cleanest headlight swaps i've seen.
How much was actually cut away besides the notches up top. I got a firebird so dont know how stock support is on this.
Wonder how it looked when all finished with the hood on.

One piece assembly
The headlights fitted to the fiberglass fascia
Hood alignment
Without close outs
Added close out panels
This modification in no way compromises the integrity of the core support. There are multiple unused holes throughout the core support from the factory and it is not a structural component.
