1988 Firebird Head Light Clamp repair

The stainless steel clamp that holds the headlight in the bucket has 2 or the 4 tabs no longer fastened to it. How can I fix this ? Solder, epoxy ? See picture, it's a 1988 Pontiac Firebird, thank you

Are you talking about the stainless ring that goes around the lamp itself, and is held in with 4 screws?

I'm pretty sure they're exactly the same in other GM cars of that vintage...junkyards should be full of them for practically nothing.

It's a real pain to solder stainless, you can get it done, but it's not easy. For a temporary fix you may be able to epoxy it back on, from the factory it is welded, if you had a TIG you could fix it easily.

Like Galaxie said, other cars used them, should be an easy replacement. Start here in the Classifieds.

Your local big box parts store should have them in their Dorman/HELP
section or they can order it.

thank you everyone, I'll try and epoxy this one and order a replacement. Here in rust belt Nova Scotia, junk yard cars have little cars left past 20 years.
