Replacing door locks
Well, spent today replacing the door locks on the "White Elephant" (sounds better than "White Whale"). Most of a day learning curve. Once I figured out that by removing the top rear weather stripping on the door so you can see what you are doing, it's easy. Drivers door took about 6 hours (back to learning curve), the pass. took about an hour and a half. A long big flat tip screwdriver makes the retaining clip a piece of cake, both to remove and replace.
Quick story: bought the car about 150 miles away. he gave me two keys with the car a square one and a round one. At 80 miles on the way back, the car boiled over. I needed to leave the car to get water. I started to lock the doors, and for some reason, checked to see if the round one would UN lock it. Silly me, of course not. So, I sent my friend to get water while I waited. Filled it back up with water and started for home. Car died after 100 yards. But, that's another story.
