Hows the drivers side? Any movement? Looks like a hard hit and these cars being unibody tend to transfer impacts thoughout the chassis.

I was at a four-way intersection turing left both lights are green I thought I could have made it I thought he was further out than he actually was I'm almost completely out of the middle of the road he then realizes Stomps on his brakes and then his car pulls to the right and slams into me my rear side but by that time I already made it a cross..
As for the other side nope nothing is messed up frame is straight the strange thing is after this accident the infl rest light went off before is it would always stay on but now gone

Honestly I think you might be able to push a lot of that out, I don't see any deep creases or anything just a big dent. I'd massage it from the inside and you might be able to get by with a light skim of bondo.

The sail panel ripple is what will be the bitch to get right. You can see the quarter also pulled away from the top of the door. If you can find a clean quarter and sail panel, that would probably be your best bet.

Buy a brand new quarter panel, rear bumper and taillight. The body shop will cut the old quarter out and just replace it. I did this on an old car I had about 20 years ago. To keep cost down, you can see if the body shop can blend the paint but with it being a hardtop, I doubt they will do it. So, it looks like the entire roof and driver side quarter will need to be blended. Plan on getting the entire back of the car repainted as well as the passenger side door.

Just get a new quarter. as someone above said, the sail panel will be hard to message back, especially with the body line running through it.

found out i might be at fault but wont know for sure till monday so i have to sit and wait till then to fix her but my question is there anything i can do to get it at lest looking some what better, oh and i found a small hole right under where the spare tire goes its like a seam was ripped open and the metal frame of the rear bumper got smashed threw

If you’re not at fault, you might be able to get a top dollar fix.. usually damage to the rear of these cars would total them because of the unibody.. you can’t fix them right for cheap enough.. you can replace everything in the front pretty easy even the frame.. the rear was always tougher..

The dent won't just pop back out if you hammer on it. Its possibly fixable for someone who is an expert bodyman, but unless you know what you're doing then you'll screw it up worse. Most likey a shop will want to put a quarter on it and blend the roof. If your trying to save a few bucks they can shoot a clear blend in the other sail panel to avoid painting the other quarter.
Fixing it will probably cost more than the car is worth to fix. Estimates are free though, take it to a few body shops and see what they say.

Yes, you could. And you wouldn't make it worse either. Just watch a couple youtube videos on the basics of dent removal and go at it. That dent is BIG but its not BAD.
Worst case scenario is you end up buying a new quarter to replace it with anyway.
If you were doing this on a mint 69 ZL1 or something then I'd be a little more cautious, but it's a thirdgen. parts are plentiful. it'll be a good learning experience.

With that being said , sure , a free estimate from a professional bodyshop couldn't hurt , but , if it truly is more to fix it than it's worth the guy might as well dive in and learn whether or not he has the mechanical/artistic aptitude(s) to do bodywork right . Some do , some don't , who knows till they really try , and as the guy himself said ; "This might kick off an auto body career for me" .

If he finds out that the cost would be so high that he'd never be able to afford to fix it then I agree, if he wants to try then have at it. But after he does, most shops won't touch it. Also, speaking from experience, bodywork is something best learned starting with small dents and working your way up as you gain an understanding how to do it. Maybe he would be good at autobody but he's setting himself up to fail if he starts with this. You wouldn't run a marathon before you've tried jogging around the block, would you?

and also i know some people who wouldn't mind working on it if the shops say no or are too expensive a family friend who is a diesel mechanic but does body work on the side he wouldn't mind helping out

Not bad? If the shop writes to fix it, I bet it'll be 10+ hours on the dent alone. I have 2 years of experience in bodywork (before I switched to the paint) and I would never touch it myself. Fixing a dent isn't as simple as banging on it with a hammer and filling the rest with bondo, its about understanding how metal moves. If he takes a hammer to it then it'll be that much harder for a bodyshop to fix it.

Most of that could be worked out from the inside and not need a new quarter. I've seen a lot worse fixed. The trouble is finding someone that's good. Some PDR guys dig a challenge to hone their skills so that's an option too.

That scenario is called "Failure to Yield". AKA you were turning left, you were supposed to yield.
Don't start trying to fix it yourself until that is your last resort. Even if whoever ends up cutting off the quarter and reskinning it, they'll probably want to pull the dent first to get the substructure right.
And whoever said "it's open on the back side" probably hasn't tried to work around the spare tire mount.

I work at a body shop, and have been in the business for 16 years. That is not a "bang it out and fill it" kind of job. That is a new quarter panel job. No reputable body shop would ever even think about repairing that messed up quarter panel. Some fly by night dude might be willing to try it, but it'd NEVER be right. You have splitting seams on the back side, and damage around the taillight area, sail panel, and wheelwell where the body lines change. Fix it right.
I actually laughed out loud when I read about most of that popping out from the inside and only needing a "skim coat" of filler. So so so WRONG.

Hopefully he's a better bodyman than he is a painter. He's not taking off headlights, taillights, grills, mirrors, door handles, and he's doing a poor job of scuffing the paint too. Not trying to scare you but I seriously doubt this guy will be able to fix that quarter. You get what you pay for and you're not paying a lot.

Right now im just gonna get it fixed gonna try and hunt down some parts for cheap too to see if i can make it cheaper also see if i can just get the shop to fix it and put primer on it and have some one else paint it if it will make it cheaper
