dash cluster lights

I have an 83 trans am and Im sick of the nasty yellow/green lights in my gauge cluster. How would I go about switching to the red/orange lights that were in the later firebirds? Would I need a whole new cluster? What year did the firebirds switch to electric speedos? Would a cluster from an 86 trans am go in with changing much? I wanted to do that anyway, as Im in the process of making the car into a formula clone. TIA for any help.

Car: 82 Camaro Z28
Engine: LU5 - Crossfire 305
Transmission: 200c - 3 Speed Automatic
if want to use an electtic speedo, there is a tech article on here on how to do it.. it is a major PITA tho. the other cluster should bolt in the dash tho.
i havent actually looked at a bird dash in person (ive only seen 3rd gen camaros around here) but i believe that u should be ale to just change the color of the bulbs behind ur current gauge cluster. u have to remember if the marks r yellow and u use a blue blub theyll probably be green at night (blue + yellow = green). i hope this helps
