'88 GTA Back on the road after several years
Ok so this has been my baby since May 2002 but life got in the way after I crashed it during a bad rainstorm one night in 2012 and I've been dreading to repair it. That's another thread here https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/body...lp-needed.html.
So, I finally decided to buy a new fuel tank, sending unit (I had already bought a new Delco fuel pump about a year ago and had it stored) and a new quarter panel from Rockauto.com. I had bought the taillights several years ago too.
These are the before pictures right after the crash.
Day after the crash.
Car landed on the steel cables on the sides of the Florida's turnpike that prevented us from falling into the canal.

So I got a good deal for a nice set of 255/50/16 tires out of a Corvette and they balanced and aligned it too. You can see the damage to the taillights too but I had already bought them about 2 years ago and have them stored safely lol. I also had to purchase a new set of center caps because the originals were stolen.

Re: '88 GTA Back on the road after several years
After cutting the quarter panel out.
That's the worst part. I'll have to reshape and replace what can't be reshaped.
Damage was mostly superficial.
Temporary install of new panel
Trying to get a good fit temporarily screwed with self drilling screws.
It's looking better than I thought for a first fit. I'll obviously remove it and install it back on several times while rebuilding that corner until I decide that it fits like the one on the other side for a perfect fit.

Nice work so far. I'm glad the damage was not as bad as it looked.
Where did you get that fuel tank?
