how to get power window down?
I picked up a door off of a parted out Firebird on craigslist. I'd like to get the mirror off for my current car. The fellow who took the door off left the power window up, and just cut the wires coming out of the door. So no connectors on the wires.
Any way to roll the power window down without power? I can't get at the mirror bolts with the window up.
Alternately, can I remove the window without breaking the glass?

Just strip the wires back that go to the motor and touch them to your car battery, reverse them for the opposite direction. A long piece of speaker wire will work.

+1 what roadthrills said.
Strip the ends of the cut power wires and touch them to a car battery + and -. I have test leads made up for things like this. A gator clamp on one end and a battery charger type clamp on other end.
clip the gator clamp onto stripped wire, and battery charger type clip onto a battery.
12 volt motors like these are reversible, so you can't really hook them up backwards and burn anything up. One way will cause motor to turn clockwise, other way will run it counterclockwise.
