Same as any other t top, wish I had a hard top. T tops in general are known for leaks.

Re: c&c t-tops

A lot of people think C & C T Tops are better than the factory ones.

Re: c&c t-tops

Personally I would prefer the factory ones over the C&C. Unless of course they were the pop-up style ones which are so unique & rare that I think they trump the factory install.

Now, a hardtop with a power sliding ASC glass astro roof - that would be the $hit!

Re: c&c t-tops

I personally like the factory TTOP look over the C&C buuuut if the car is nice it may not matter much to me.
The factory ttops have a more "finished" look to them to me.

Re: c&c t-tops

well heres the run down on the car 60k miles with the c&c's they seem to be the only thing stopping me from making the purchase as I've never had a car with them and don't know if there is any major issues with them over the gm design?

Re: c&c t-tops

Nothing wrong with C&C t-tops for sure. They look great. I have factory t-tops and was searching out weather seals for mine and even ran into some weather seals for the C&C's so at least you can still get the weather stripping for it. What I like about them is that they resemble 2nd gen t-tops. The painted body panel that runs across the top of the windsheild is wider....making the actual glass shorter.

Re: c&c t-tops

Something I WOULD do before I buy, is take one top out and see if you can gently lift the rubber away from the j channel right on the corner edge above the door glass and check for rust under the rubber. That will tell you if they leak. Another way to tell is crawl under the car on the passenger side and look at the floor panel where it is deep....it will be rusted if the tops leak because that is where the majority of the water will collect.

It having c&c's is the only reason why I haven't bought it yet.Just don't know if I can swallow the smaller T-tops.

Re: c&c t-tops

Personally, I actually prefer them to the stock tops. The design is much more leak resistant, even when the seals do eventually dry out. The seal is underneath the glass instead of at the edge. Also, the brace is pretty stout.

God there is alot of rivets in there.

Pros for C&C. Deeper water channels. Better seal design.
Cons. Rarer if glass shatters, so not easy to replace. Smaller. IT does have a less finished look. Adjustment is prone to squeaks, and the plastic caps on the A and B pillars can wear out.

If they are in decent shape, and seal up well, don't be afraid to buy the car unless you HAVE to have factory T-tops.

The Sunroof Doctor bought out the entire C&C warehouse and carries just about every part I've ever asked for on them. I've never asked for replacement glass though.

Re: c&c t-tops

The C & C T Tops probably are stronger with better bracing.

When my cap was repainted I drilled out the rivets to get the C & C T Tops sand blasted and powder coated so they are like new now. The seals were dried out, but there was no corrosion in the steel.

Re: c&c t-tops

Are c&c t-tops cars worth less?

It all depends on the car, for example no 90-92 5.7 l98 option came t-tops, so if you find a c&c t top for a 5.7 90-92 f body, then I would say that's rare and unique( value goes up) since none came t top.

Now let's say you see a 1989 iroc 5.7 that actually did come whit the factory t-top option, and next to the 89 iroc, is another iroc same everything but has C&C t tops. Factory t-tops would win hands down.

It all depends on the model and year of your f-body
