DEALER STICKER ON REAR BUMPER?

I bought my '87 T-top IROC after it had already been repainted. I would like to put an original dealer sticker back on the rear, but since it did not have one when I got it, I don't know where they were originally applied.

I realize each dealer may have put them in different locations, but I suspect they originally were put on the left side under the 5.7 emblem or on the rear of the spoiler lip.

I contacted the original dealer for my car and he sent me out a left-over 1980's sticker to use (too cool!)

Does anyone have the original dealer decal still in place they could photo and share?

Re: DEALER STICKER ON REAR BUMPER?

On my brother's 91 RS the decal was on the LH side of the rear bumper equal with the RD badge on the RH side. So I'd say you're close with that idea

Re: DEALER STICKER ON REAR BUMPER?

On all the cars I have owned with a dealer sticker, it was on the driver side on the rear of the vehicle. I assume so that it's most visible to the driver behind you.

I also would like to see a picture of one. I curious as to why someone would want to put one on.

Re: DEALER STICKER ON REAR BUMPER?

My Camaro and Firebird, both from local Metro Detroit dealers, had the dealer name on the plate frame, not a decal. Others had stickers.

One of my older cars has a vintage dealer decal on the trunk, which I intend to reproduce. It's a store that I was in many times as a kid in my home town, was the selling dealer for my car when new, and is no longer in business. It's part of the cars history.

I didn't have one when I got the car but,I would consider one if maybe the dealer has been long gone out of business, just for Historical reasons.

Re: DEALER STICKER ON REAR BUMPER?

Those things were slapped on by some kid who prepped the car who was probably earning minimum wage. It was not put on very carefully, and probably not straight. Most look to be on the drivers side.

Re: DEALER STICKER ON REAR BUMPER?

When I ordered my car from Chriswell Chevrolet Gaithersburg Maryland in 83, I asked them NOT to put any dealer name tags on.....

My 85 trans am, that I got from my uncle, had one. It was on the drivers side. I always thought it was kinda cool.

99% of the time they look crappy.

Put the decals in a 3 ring binder for the car and be done with it.

Re: DEALER STICKER ON REAR BUMPER?

Remember when dealers used to have an actual emblem type of decal? Now it's just a website sticker on the back window usually.

Re: DEALER STICKER ON REAR BUMPER?

I have one on my 87 IROC. Like many above said, in general I dislike these and none of my newer vehicles have them on them, but I love it on this car.

Scuncio Chevrolet is long since out of business (I believe it went out of business shortly after this car was sold).

It was a well known dealership here in the north east for selling hi-perf cars in the 60's + 70's. I think it's awesome that it's still on the car!
