Best bolt on cowl hood scoop
Hey guys!!! I am helping my kid with his 87 firebird. it has a 350 with a performer RPM and he needs a little more hood clearance. It's his money (not a lot) so we have been looking at the bolt on cowl induction scoops. There are PLENTY of them on the internet but the curve of the hood has me a little concerned. We have another stock hood we are gonna use for this as to not mess up the original one. This will be his first "body work" experience so tryin to make it as easy as possible. Thanks!!

Not sure about that because of the curve like you said, but have you tried a drop base air cleaner? You can gain 2" of hood clearance with one.

I have a performer RPM airgap it has had holley 4150, 4160 and now a Terminator throttle body on it with an edelbrock drop base and 3 inch filter under my factory flat hood. It fits without issue and has for many years.
