It would probably have a bit of tackyness attached to it. To be safe just pick up extra panels from the junkyard and paint whichever set is in worse condition.

My center shifter looked like crap it was all cracked. I got one from the junk yard, but someone glued ****ty wood piece to it. I peeled it off and sanded it nice and smooth, without loosing that texture look. Some of it was alittle faded, so I used that Bumper spray paint. Worked very well. I also used bumper spray paint to paint the primer over spray on my center console.

If you're painting interior pieces, go by some from the junk yard. Trust me. I suggest Painting a few pieces really nice and living with them for awhile to see if you like it, before painting everythign you're gonna paint.

You should lightly sand the surface and clean the pieces really well. Spray one coat of primer on and then use any kind of arcylic pain you'd like.

Model paint is the most expenisve, but works best as it is designed to stick to plastic. Helps this help out.

Go for it! It only looks tacky when is an awful color that doesn't match the rest of the car, like the rice boys do it. My car is red inside and I am making it red and black. As for changing interior panel colors, Just Dashes makes a Fade Away kit that can be used to restore or change the color of vinyl and plastic parts. Its pricy but it should work, I have the kit for my 70' Challenger but have not used it yet.

i like the yellow trim... nice *steals idea and runs to buy spraypaint.)

Just wondering? what kind of paint did u use?
I painted the interior plastic black (brown interior doesn't match a blue car) with all purpose paint, but it sluffs off when anything rubs against it. (i did sand the pannels first if your wondering.

I believe there is a fine line between just right & too much. You really want to avoid painting everything red. I would start with a few fine touches here & there, then as you noticed you need balance somewhere you could go & do that part.

I personally have considered a couple of touches because my interior already has some yellow in it. But I have not as of yet decided what would look the best. I am a firm believer of doing something because I have spent hours thinking & considering many options. I am not one for doing something for the sake of doing it though...

Hey hey that's my car. Glad it sticks in peoples minds.
Here is how I did mine...
I painted them while they were out of the car. I used duplicolor spray paint and spray primer. The best advice I can give is be patient and take your time. Apply the primer and paint in light coats or it
will bury the detail on the panels. I usually waited about and hour between
coats on a nice warm, sunny day. The most important thing would be to make
sure everything is completly cleaned and free of grease and oil.
Here are some more pics...

I really like the way prime has done up his interior. I've experimited with a few extra interior pieces. Either I haven't used the right color yet, or just don't like it. Still spending time thinking about it.

But keep in mind, COLOR CLASH:

All this needs is a big Type R badge, of course i think those mats say R Racing...

Unforgivin, yours don't look that bad actually. I did a test on some spare parts that I had laying around with red, and it looked like crap. But's yours looks good for red!
