How to you change the glass on the side mirrors

How to you change the glass on the side mirrors
My side mirrors are scratched up and i dont see how to remove the glass so i can put the replacements in

I had one of mine fall off, so I would assume they are just glued in.

Had a mirror glass fall off on me too on a '76 Grand Prix. And that was only when the car was 6 years old! I'm not sure but I think GM may have used a heavy duty double-sided foam adhesive tape. As old as our cars are, there is every possibility that an exterior mirror glass could become dislodged.

I replaced the glass on my passenger side and it came with instructions to just knock the glass the rest of the way out with a hammer. I put tape over it the lightly shattered it and it all came out. The new glass just stuck on where it was.

If I had to break it out, I think I would want to have a shop do it... I've already had bad luck with my car as it is!
