I bought one for my gta a while back... the quality wasnt bad. The sheet metal seemed to be slightly thinner, and it wasnt as exact as a factory one, but it wasnt all that bad.

I used one from a company called keystone--wasn't too bad-but like stated-metal was kind of thin. As long as you're not using a complete front end that's aftermarket(for alignment issues)you should be ok. These aftermarket parts aren't made exactly to specs so you usually can get by using the factory parts to line up the aftermarket piece.

I looked at an 87 Formula that had an aftermarket fender on it. I was looking & looking at that car & knew there was something not quite right. i could not put my finger on it, until I looked inside the fender to see that it was aftermarket.

To this day I cannot figure out what was wrong with it & why it did not look right.

Honestly, it looked "ok", & most people would never notice.

I just came back from the boneyard(junkyard) and saw about 30 good fenders. My car's fenders are bent on both sides from the previous owner. I cant complain about that because thats why I got the car for so cheap. Anyway I didnt have enoght money to get them but next pay check thats where I'm going. I think I saw a few red ones but if not I'll sand it prime it and spray it. If you go this way you know your getting a good part that came on the original vehicle (unless you cant tell what a aftermarket fender is from a original. But if you cant tell what does it matter?)

The aftermarket fender I was looking at had a decal for identification.
