4th Gen door panels on a 3rd Gen, is it possible???
I just found some 4th gen door panels that look great and I was wondering, is it possible to put them on a 3rd gen??? I coulda swore I saw someone here with 4th gen door panels on their 3rd gen but I may just be dreaming. Anyone know of a how to article or anything on it? Thanks.

What parts were hard to do? The power locks? It looks like you had to trim the entire front to make it fit correctly, and it's missing the speaker/kick panel.

The hardest part is going to make it flush with the door at the bottom of the panel.
On the 4th gen cars, the bottom of the door is open a little and the door panel sits inside of it on the bottom.
The way it is now on my car, there is a 1" gap between the panel and the door, due to the fact that the small pocket in the door panel is recessed.Might use some rubber weather stripping to seal it up.
The other hard part is the door handle and the sliding lock rod. Door handles assembly is riveted to the door, so I just left the stock assembly on and replaced the door lever.
I am still debating whether to finish it now, or wait till I get a dash, since I have to cut the top of the panel where it meets the stock dash, and if I do the 4th gen dash later, I will have to buy 2 other door panels, right now, I have only cut one.
If this one looks good, then I will do the other side. Until the passenger side is done, I am not touching the drivers side.

make it easy and go buy a 4thgen.</font>

I just like the interior and motor/tranny/wheels of the 4th gens.
